What ScanForCards collects
When you use the ScanForCards Chrome extension, it reads the content of seller listing pages you visit while logged into your social media accounts — specifically, listing images and associated text — in order to identify trading cards and match them against your watchlist.
We collect and store:
- Your email address and hashed password (for your ScanForCards account)
- Your watchlist items (player names, sets, grades, cert numbers you define)
- Extracted card data from listings that match your watchlist (player, year, set, grade, asking price, seller handle, and a link to the original listing)
- Your scan interval preference and Telegram chat ID (if connected)
What we do not collect
- Your social media credentials or passwords
- Private messages or DMs
- Your browsing history outside of card seller listings
- Any financial or payment information (billing is handled entirely by Stripe)
How listing images are handled
Listing images captured by the extension are sent to our servers and processed by an AI model to extract card details. Images are discarded immediately after processing — they are not stored on our servers.
Third parties
We use the following third-party services:
- Anthropic / OpenRouter — AI image analysis. Images are processed under a data processing agreement and are not used for model training.
- Telegram — Notification delivery to your linked Telegram account.
- Stripe — Payment processing. We never see or store your card number.
- Resend — Transactional email (password reset). Your email address is shared only for delivery purposes.
We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or any other third parties.
Data retention
Match records and extracted card data are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Listing images are not retained after processing.
